Those who Talk about Gau Raksha, Let them First Rear Cows in their Homes – Mithun Rai

Udupi: Those so-called Gau Rakshaks who talk about the protection of cows, let them first rear one or two cattle in their respective homes”, said Mithun Rai president of Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress.

He was speaking after participating in the Udupi district-level youth congress executive committee meeting at the Congress Bhavan on Wednesday, August 26.

Addressing the party members, Mithun Rai said, “Congress is the only secular party where every religion is treated equally. The Congress party also considers Cow as holy, but some communalists are misusing the social media to defame Congress. Congress leaders are not greedy for power, but give priority to serving the society, and helping the people in their needs”.

Mithun Rai further said, “The Coronavirus has put the common man in trouble, but the BJP government sees this as a money-making business in the state. More than Rs 2,000 crore has been siphoned off through the purchase of medical equipment like ventilators, PPE kits, thermal scanners, sanitizers, gloves, masks as well as other devices for the treatment of COVID-19 patients”.

Mithun Rai also said, “The new Congress party chief DK Shivakumar has decided to build the party from the grass-root level. The youth are the backbone of the party. Winning and losing the elections is not permanent, we have hopes that our party will come to power in the next Assembly elections”.

Vidya Balakrishnan national secretary of Youth Congress said, “The NDA government led by Narendra Modi has misused the Constitutional institutions like the Supreme Court, National investigation agency CBI, RBI, and Election Commission among others. Despite crude oil prices dropping significantly in the international market, the NDA government continues to loot the common public by not passing on the benefit to the people. The fuel price hike is a burden to the people who are reeling under loss and striving for a livelihood because of the COVID-19 pandemic”.

Youth Congress state vice president Kemparaj Gowda, District Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Youth Congress president Vishwas Ameen, CMC Councilor Ramesh Kanchan, Vijaya Poojary, Youth Congress state secretary Suhail Kandak and others were present.
