Three Arrested for Peddling Drugs – 40 Kg Ganja Seized
Bengaluru: The Ramapura police arrested three persons for peddling drugs and seized 40 kg ganja from their possession at Yashwanthpur here on September 29.
The arrested have been identified as Karthik alias Kabali (31), from L Pura, Vikky M (23) from Koramangala, and Premkumar (21) from Vinayaka Nagar, Kudlu, Bengaluru.
According to the police, on September 29, on getting reliable information about drugs being transported on an autorickshaw and two two-wheelers from Yashwanthpur to Malleshwaram Railway Parallel road, towards Sriramapura Ayyappa Temple, the Yashwanthpur police led by the Police Inspector and team succeeded in arresting the accused. The police seized 40 kg of ganja, an autorickshaw and 2 two-wheelers used for the crime.
Accused Karthik is working in a workshop and 2 cases of peddling ganja have been registered against him in the Rajajinagar police station. He was released on bail and has continued the same old habit. Another accused Vikky is a DJ and Accused Prem Kumar works as a delivery boy for Amazon.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that Karthik was buying ganja from Dasphala, Odisha and bringing it by train. He was later sharing the ganja with the other two accused and selling it in Sriramapura, Rajajinagar, Subramanya Nagar, Sheshadripuram and Basaveshwara Nagar. The search is on for the other two accused.
Under the guidance of Malleshwaram Sub-division K S Venkatesh Naidu, the operation was carried out by the Police Inspector of Sriramapura Police Station Sunil Y Naik, PSI Girish Naik, ASI Venkatappa, Mohan Kumar Nayak, Nataraj, Cheluvegowda, Siddu Lamani, Hanumesh, Sharana Reddy, Karna and Anand.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant commended the efforts of the police officers in arresting the drug peddlers and rewarded them with cash.
