Three Arrested Under Goonda Act
Mangaluru: Three persons have been arrested under the Goonda Act here, on July 18.
The arrested have been identified as Vishwanath Poojary alias Kodikere Vishwa (33), Haneef alias Haneef Adyapady (37) and Mustafa (30). Vishwanath, from Jokatte, has committed grievous crimes such as murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, assault and life threats. 9 cases are registered against him in various police stations in Mangaluru city, DK district and Udupi district. Vishwanath has been arrested under the Goonda act and sent to Vijayapura central jail.
Haneef alias Haneef Adyapady (37), from Bajpe, is also responsible for grievous crimes. 6 serious cases have been filed against him such as an attempt to murder and assault. He was arrested under the Goonda act and sent to Belagavi central jail.
Mustafa (30), from Kavoor, who has also committed grievous crimes, has 4 cases of murder and attempt to murder filed against him. He has been sent to the Mysuru central Jail.
Based on the report submitted by the DCP of Law and Order Shantharaju, ACP Crime Uday Nayak, Surathkal Police Inspector Cheluvaraj and Kavoor Police inspector Nataraj, the police commissioner issued an order to arrest the three and charge them under the Goonda Act.
