Three chain Snatchers arrested by Anti-rowdy Squad in City
Mangaluru: Police from the South Sub-division Anti-rowdy Squad arrested three chain Snatchers at Deralakatte here on November 11.
The arrested have been identified as Alwyn Dominic Miranda (37) from Akashbhavna, Manish alias Manishram (20) from Ashok Nagar and Ashwin Correa (22) from Paneer Deralakatte.
According to the police on getting reliable information about the chain Snatchers who were moving on motorbikes and inquiring on the locations with women walking alone in remote areas who were active in Deralakatte and surrounding places. The Anti-rowdy Squad police got into action and arrested the chain-snatchers. The police seized gold ornaments, mobile phone, a motorbike and a scooter all worth Rd 4.57 lakh from their possession.
Based on the 6 chain Snatching cases registered in Mangaluru Rural, Kankanady Town, Mangaluru East, Kavoor and Ullal police stations the police arrested the chain Snatchers in Deralakatte.
Under the able guidance of Police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and order Hanumantharaya and DCP crime and traffic Uma Prashanth the operation was carried out by the ACP of Anti-rowdy Squad Ram Rao, Rural Police station Sub Inspector Sudhakar, ASI Sundar Achar, Mohan K V, Girish Bengre, Sunil Kumar, Regi V M, Ravichandra, Damodar, Rajram Kutattaje, Mahesh Patali, Mohammed Sheriff, Dayanand Siriyar, Sudheer Shetty, Ravinath, Nandeesh and Mohammed Iqbal.
