Three die of electrocution at Ujjodi
Mangaluru: Three persons died in a tragic incident at Ujjodi here on January 29.
The deceased have been identified as Valerian Lobo (58) his wife Esmi Lobo (49) from Ujjodi and Sandeep (25), from Moodbidri.
According to sources, Sandeep was plucking black pepper which was spread on a coconut tree using an iron ladder. Valerian was helping Sandeep and holding the ladder for support. All of a sudden the ladder slipped and fell on the high-voltage electric wire nearby. Sandeep died on the spot while Valerian was struggling, When Hazel saw the incident she right away went to help her husband and was also electrocuted.
Sandeep was working in a hotel. Valerian was working in NMPT and his wife Esmi Lobo was working in the School of Social work, Roshni Nilaya.
