Three Interstate Drug Peddlers Arrested, 175 Kg Ganja Seized
Mangaluru: The Puttur Town police arrested three Interstate drug peddlers at Patrakodi, Bantwal here on August 11.
The arrested have been identified as Ibrahim alias Arshad alias Achu (26) from Doormarkad, Manjeshwar; Mohammed Shafiq (31) from Majirpalla, and Kalandar Shafi (26) from Kanyana Bantwal.
According to the police, On August 11, at around 6:30 am, when the Puttur town police were on duty, they noticed a pick-up and a car carrying a large quantity of Ganja at Patrakodi, Kedila. Immediately, the Puttur Town Police Inspector along with the PSI and team seized both the vehicles and arrested the drug peddlers.
The police seized 175 kg of Ganja worth Rs 17.5 lakh, a car worth Rs 4 lakh, Pick-up worth Rs 2.5 lakh, all worth Rs 24.5 lakh from their possession.
Accused Ibrahim is involved in various crimes, and 7 cases have been registered against him in the Manjeshwar Police station and 2 cases in Kumble police station. Kalandar Shafi is also involved in various crimes, an attempt to murder has been registered against him in the Vittal police station, and 2 Ganja peddling cases have been registered in the Kavoor police station.
The Puttur Town police have registered a case and are investigating.
