Three more COVID-19 Positive Cases Reported in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: Three more coronavirus positive cases have been reported today, raising the total COVID-19 cases to 12 in the district.
Out of three cases, two persons had attended the Tablighi Jamaat Nizamuddin congregation in New Delhi and another woman had come from Dubai and landed at the Mangaluru international airport.
Those who attended the Jamaat had returned to Mangaluru on March 21. 29 persons had participated in the Jamaat and their throat SWAB was sent for testing. 9 reports have already been received out of which 2 have been found positive. The remaining reports are expected soon. People who were in contact with these people have already been quarantined.
Speaking to mangalorean.com MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency Dr Bharat Shetty said, “The woman who arrived at the Mangaluru International airport on March 21 from Dubai was taken directly to the hospital and admitted. She is from our neighbouring district. She had not contacted anyone after her arrival to Mangaluru. Her throat SWAB was sent for test and was found positive for COVID-19.”
Dr Bharat further said, “The other two persons who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat at the Nizamuddin Markaz Mosque, Delhi are also found positive. The throat SWAB of 29 persons who had attended the Jamaat was sent for test. At present out of the 29, we have received 9 reports out of which 2 are positive. Other reports are expected soon. The entire area where these persons lived has already been quarantined and closely monitored”.
If anyone has participated in the Jammat they should inform the district administration or the Health officers as soon as possible.
