Time extended till Oct 27 to apply for regularisation of houses – Kagodu Thimmappa

Udupi: “The Revenue department had decided to issue the possession certificate by December end to those who have applied for regularisation of houses built on government land in rural as well as urban areas”, said Kagodu Thimmappa Revenue Minister.

He was speaking after conducting a review meeting of revenue officials at the DC office Rajathadri Manipal here on September 15. The government has extended the date to receive applications until October 27 under the regularisation scheme as per section 94C of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act (for rural areas) and section 94 CC (urban areas) should be processed and possession certificates issued. Village accountants and panchayat development officers have been instructed to jointly conduct the property survey to complete the process of giving the certificates.

The complications in forms 9 and 11 bothering the coastal districts would be sorted out by September end.The elected representatives were called and discussions were held to sort out the problems involved in forms 9 and 11, which are not under revenue land.

The State government has decided to grant the occupancy rights to farmers who have Kumki land under the Akrama-Sakrama scheme. Kumki land is the land owned by the government located adjacent to the patta land under cultivation. Farmers with agricultural fields in the vicinity had been given the right to cultivate the government land lying vacant. The instructions have been given to the tahsildars to receive applications in the district, he added.

We had strictly directed the officials to settle the petitions pertaining to Bagair Hukum land and others by December end. Apart from the agricultural land, there was provision under the Act to confer title deeds for forest land on which houses have been constructed. Similarly, members of Scheduled Tribes who had been cultivating bagair hukum forest land for more than five years would be allotted the respective land. For others, forest land would be allotted if they proved that their family had been cultivating the land for 75 years, he said.

Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge, Vinay Kumar Sorake MLA Kaup, Kota Shrinivas Poojary MLC, Venkatesh Deputy Commissioner, Priyanka Mary Francis CEO Udupi Zilla Panchayat and other revenue officials were present.
