Tipu’s relative petitions govt against Anantkumar Hegde

Bengaluru, (DHNS): A distant relative of Tipu Sultan submitted a representation to Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Tuesday, seeking criminal action against Union Minister of State Anantkumar Hegde for making controversial remarks against the erstwhile Mysore ruler.

S Manzoor Ali submitted the memorandum to Reddy, seeking action against Hegde for calling Tipu a “mass murderer and rapist.”

He stated that Hegde is spreading hatred and communalism in society through his statements and has also hurt the sentiments of not only Muslims but also the people of Karnataka.

Speaking to DH, Reddy said Ali has just submitted a memorandum and he should file a complaint before the appropriate authority.

Meanwhile, a city-based industrialist, An Alam Pasha, filed a petition before 10th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court against Hegde and BJP MLA C T Ravi for their controversial statements against Tipu.

He sought directions to the jurisdictional police to register a FIR and initiate action against them. Earlier, Pasha approached the Indiranagar police who allegedly refused to register a complaint. Later, he filed a petition before the court.
