Tirupati Laddu Controversy: VHP Demands Stringent Punishment
Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has strongly condemned beef fat and fish oil in preparing the iconic Tirupati laddu, a sacred offering to Lord Venkateswara. This act has hurt Hindu sentiments worldwide, considering the immense devotion towards Lord Venkataramana and the prasadam’s symbolic significance.
VHP state joint secretary Sharan Kumar Pumpwell has demanded a CBI probe and strict punishment for those responsible. The organization accuses the previous government, led by Chief Minister Jagan, of involvement and seeks action against the guilty.
Laboratory tests have confirmed the use of beef fat and fish oil in the laddus, sparking widespread outrage. BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted, “Those responsible for this act of desecration of Hindu religious sentiments must be jailed”.
The VHP praises current Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for exposing the issue and ensuring pure laddus are offered to the deity.
