To Avoid Rape, Parents Teach Your Sons to Respect Women – Narendra Nayak During Massive Protest

Mangaluru: The citizens of Mangaluru held a candlelight vigil against the brutal rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in Kathua in front of the DC office here on April 16.

The Candlelight vigil was inaugurated by Kusumavathi Gowda Mother of Soujanya by lighting the candle.

Student Shreya Rao addressing the protesters said, “We stand here in solidarity against the injustice our people are facing. As per our society whenever women and girls are raped their lives are ruined, victims are blamed and shamed. We are made to feel that it is ok. It is the fault of the woman, and the girls who just smile at boys or men whose mentality is narrow, hearts are shallow and pride bigger than humanity. We must now make rapists feel that their life is over.”

Shreya Rao further said, “Shame on the society for giving us an environment in which rape is prevalent and made to feel common and normal. Where is your tradition when you target daughters, mothers and sisters? Where is the tradition now where rape is made to feel common? Shame on the men who attacked the pub and thrashed women. Shame, Shame and Shame.”

Addressing the gathering Kusumavathi said, “My daughter was raped and murdered, from the past five years I have been fighting for justice. I am ready to take part in any protest because I want justice for my daughter. Those who killed her are protected, I am running from pillar to post crying for justice. I request all the people to join hands so that justice is served to all the rape victims, I am always with you to fight for justice.”

Prof Narendra Nayak said, “Our nervous system is dead. When a girl is raped, people ask why was that girl wearing jeans, why did she wear a short skirt, why does she have short hair? They talk about the modern dress but those who comment like that, they want the modern car, airplane and mobile phones. But the girl should not wear modern dress. Those who wear saree have also been raped! Women are not objects, parents should teach their sons to respect women. Sowjanya was brutally raped and murdered in Dharmasthala. When Soujanya was returning from college she was raped and murdered. Her body was found in the forest the next day. Now the High court has ordered the CBI to properly investigate Soujanya’s case. We need to change our mentality. Where there is injustice we should raise our voice. When hundreds of voices unite no rapist can stand in front of us.”

Mohammed Kunhi speaking on the occasion said, “Our country has unity in diversity. But unfortunately, our country is now infamous for rape and murder. An 8-year-old girl was brutally raped in a temple for four days and was later murdered. But some politicians supported the accused and held a protest in support of rapists. Even the police officers are accused in the Unnao and Kathua rape case. The lawyers are supporting the accused and fighting their cases. Our democracy is in danger. Rape is cancer which if not controlled, the future will be horrible. We should be united and continue our fight so that all rapists get maximum punishment.”

Social Activist Vidya Dinker, students, nuns and others were also present.

Just question the Judicial System of India, how many convicted Rapists have been done to death, and one will know why there is no fear of the POSCO act or charge..

Rapists and murderers are mentioned by the Law Keepers as History Sheeters, and yet they are out on bail without fear of the law, mankind, or God!
