‘To Build Smart City Bus Shelter in Delhi Costs Rs 5 Lakh, WHY In Mangaluru it is Rs 12 Lakh?-asks MP Kateel, and tells MSCL to stop building any more bus shelters under Smart City Mission
Mangaluru : Chairing a district development, coordination and monitoring committee meeting, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel coming hard on the committee of Mangaluru Smart City Limited said that spending Rs12 lakh for a bus shelter was too high when such a structure was being built in New Delhi at Rs 5 lakh. Moreover, the bus shelters built in the city were unscientifically designed and each of these structures does not cover 600 square foot area as has been claimed.
Questioning the spending of Rs 12 lakh for building each bus shelter in the city under the Smart City Mission, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, asked the Managing Director of Mangaluru Smart City Limited, Ms Snehal R., not to take up construction of any more bus shelters under the mission. Kateel asked Ms. Snehal to conduct an inquiry into the cost of bus shelters built here in Mangaluru.
Dear Mr Kateel, Rs 12 Lacs include 20 percent under the table as per a Contractor who spoke to me inside MCC building on 13th September 2019. Can’t give over the table due to CCTVs everywhere and Cell Phones in everyones hand.
