To Elders With Love! Spoorthi Charitable Trust to Host its 8th Annual Day on 20 January
Mangaluru : Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangaluru Press Club, Dr Prabha Adhikari, the secretary of the Trust said, “Spoorthi Charitable Trust will be observing its 8th annual day on 20-1-2019 at Vathsalya Dhama -Vridhashram at Kodialbail near Sharada School. Spoorthi Charitable Trust has been rendering services to senior citizens in many ways like- it runs a daily Active ageing centre where exercises are taught to nearly 50 senior citizens; Nearly 400 members get free blood sugar and blood pressure check every month and free consultation by a physician; Bed ridden elderly get treatment at home and nearly 100 elders have availed this; Patients with end stage diseases have received cancer care,care for multiple ailments at home and we have served them until their last minute of life and have been in touch with the spouses and children” Dr Adhikari further said, “We have donated wheel chairs ,walkers Fowler`s cot, water bed, airbed ,Nebuliser and home oxygen for the needy elderly; Every year we have been helping two elderly for health care or any other needs; We have made a documentary in the name of the founder -We don’t miss him for educating people on dementia; To continue these services ,we need all your support .We accept donations of cash and kind which includes donations such as wheel chair ,walker, Cane, Nebuliser, hearing aids ,and unused medicines with long expiry date. We seek the support of youngsters to come forward to help us take the trust forward”.
“New activities for this year will be issue of low cost drugs for members at cost prize ,Dementia resource centre and starting of a library. On 20-1 -2019 at 9.30 AM, our Annual Day will be inaugurated by U.Rama Rao, founder and secretary of Radio Listener`s Association, Secretary of Productivity council. Members of Spoorthi will entertain all of us” added Dr Prabha Adhikari.
Spoorthi Charitable Trust was founded By Mrs Kumuda Ramachandra Rao in memory of her Husband late Sri M.A.Ramachandra Rao. Satya Mohan Hebbar is its managing Trustee, Mrs Usha Hebbar is the treasurer. Dr Mohini Bhat, Dr C.V.Raghuveer ,Girish Adhikari, Dr Pracheth R and C.V .Suvarna are the other trustees.

Ms Chandra Prabha Nayak retired Bank Employee ,MsSudha Rao-retired head mistress of Besant School who are active members of the trust , Ms Usha Hebbar and Shreedevi Pradeep who is the exercise coordinator of Spoorthi were present for the press meet.
