Tour on Drought affected Areas a Political Gimmick by BJP – Ivan D’Souza
Mangaluru: “The state President of BJP B S Yeddyurappa has started his tour in the drought affected areas which is a political gimmick of the BJP to show that there are no differences between B S Yeddyurappa and K S Eshwarappa. When there was a need the BJP leaders did not tour any of the drought affected areas but all of a sudden the BJP is now showing concern towards the farmers”, said the chief whip of Karnataka Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at his office here on May 20.
Addressing the mediapersons Ivan said, “When there was a drought in the state, none of the BJP leaders thought of visiting the affected areas. Now since the rainy season has started Yeddyurappa has started to tour the drought affected areas to study the situation”.
Ivan further said, “On May 19, BJP leaders had food at a Dalit’s house which was brought from a five-star hotel. If the BJP leaders would have had food prepared by the Dalits, it would have increased their trust in the BJP. In the state, there are 17 MPs and 4 ministers. None of them have the courage to approach the prime minister to waive off the loan of the farmers. The BJP leaders are now wasting their time touring the drought affected areas”.
