Tragic Accident Claims Life of Tipper Driver in Moodubelle
Udupi: In a tragic incident that occurred early on February 25, a 40-year-old tipper truck driver lost his life following an accident in Kattengieri, within the jurisdiction of Shirva Police Station. The victim, identified as Subramanya Acharya from Byndoor, met with the fatal accident near the turning at Kattingeri Ganapana Katte around 4 AM.
Reports indicate that Acharya was operating the tipper truck en route from Bhandar to deliver sand to Palli when the vehicle overturned. As the tipper overturned, the driver was thrown from his seat and fell beneath the vehicle, leading to fatal injuries that resulted in his immediate death at the spot.
Emergency responders, including local residents and personnel from the Shirva police station, arrived promptly at the site of the accident. Utilizing a JCB, they successfully lifted the overturned truck to recover Subramanya’s body, which was subsequently transported to Ajjarakadu District Hospital for further examination.
Authorities have registered a case at the Shirva Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the accident. The local community is mourning the loss of Acharya, whose untimely death has sent shockwaves throughout the area.
