Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Three Women in Tumkur District

Tumkur: A devastating road accident on National Highway 48 near Chikkanahalli in the Shira taluk of Tumkur district has resulted in the unfortunate deaths of three women. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, also left twenty other individuals injured, prompting their immediate admission to the Shira government hospital for treatment.

Initial reports indicate that a private bus traveling from Goa towards Bangalore lost control while navigating the highway. The vehicle collided with the road divider before overturning, leading to the catastrophic consequences of the incident. Eyewitnesses at the scene described a chaotic situation as passengers struggled to escape the wreckage.

Local authorities and emergency services responded promptly to the accident, conducting rescue operations to extricate those trapped inside the bus. The injured individuals have received varying degrees of medical attention, with authorities confirming that some of the victims are in critical condition.

The local police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, examining factors that may have contributed to the loss of control. Authorities have urged road users to exercise caution, especially on National Highway 48, which has seen increased traffic and accidents in recent months.

The families of the victims are currently receiving support from local officials and community members during this difficult time.
