Mangaluru: It was indeed a nightmare for motorists and commuters getting stuck in the traffic jam, which was created a trailer truck carrying a huge load of equipment, which was plying on airport road and got stuck at Sharbath Katte junction, Yeyyadi, Mangaluru during
the peak hour of Thursday, 12 December morning. It is said that the truck was moving towards Yeyyadi industrial area.
As per police source, it is learnt that the truck while carrying the load to Industrial Estate in Yeyyadi, while making a U-turn near the Sharbath Katte junction, got stuck right in the middle of the road, and couldn’t move forward, thereby blocking the entire stretch of the road. Those on their way to the Airport, others going to work, and other destinations got stranded for a long time, until the cops arrived and making arrangements for the flow of traffic. In the meantime, motorists and commuters were heard cursing the driver for his carelessness.
Sudhir M S, who was on his way to Mangaluru International Airport to catch his flight was all worried, whether he would reach in time to the airport. Just like Sudhir, there were many others stuck in the traffic jam also worried whether they would reach in time for work, and other appointments. Many citizens have suggested that the traffic police don’t allow heavy trucks during peak hours, which have been a nuisance to those motorists/commuters who use the airport road frequently, either to reach the airport, offices, schools/colleges etc.
