Transformer damaged as huge tree branch falls at Karangalpady
Mangaluru: A huge branch of a Banyan tree fell on the shops near the Karangalpady Market, Bunts Hostel here, on May 19.
The huge branch of the tree which was near the Karangalpady Market fell over shops, parked cars, two-wheelers and an electric transformer.
During the bandh, since most of the shops were closed, it was a lucky day for the people in the area and those using the route. The fire brigade immediately arrived at the spot. MLA J R Lobo also visited the spot and instructed the officers as well as the fire brigade personnel to immediately clear the debris.
Corporator D K Ashok and MCC commissioner Dr Gopalkirshna also were at the spot.
