Treasure Hunters dig up abandoned Basadi Premises in Beltangady

Mangaluru: Treasure hunters dug up the foundation of an old Jain Basadi of Kotebagilu in Sishila Grama Panchayat of Beltangady Taluk and also performed black magic to unearth the treasure, on Saturday, November 3 night.

On Saturday night around 8:00 pm, some suspicious persons were spotted near the Basadi area. The locals questioned them when they said that they had come to catch fish and immediately escaped from the place. Then locals then visited the spot where they found the Basadi foundation to have been dug up.

Miscreants had removed the stone slabs from the floor and dug a pit. Some incense sticks, Flowers and coconut were also found in the place. Locals suspect that before digging the pit they had performed the Puja.

The locals have noted the vehicle number and given it to the Dharmasthala Police. The Dharmasthala police visited the spot for investigation.
