Tulu Koota Kuwait Felicitates MLA Umanath Kotian

Kuwait: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK) Felicitated former President of Tulu Sahithya Academy and Mulki – Moodbidri MLA, Umanath Kotian.

Tulu Koota Kuwait, held the felicitation ceremony for Umanath Kotain, The Former President of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and MLA of Mulki-Moodabidri constituency, for his gratifying leadership, devotion, dedication and hard work towards Tulu Language, Art, Culture and Socio-economic development on October 4, 2019 at the Salmiya Play School Rumaithiya, Kuwait.

During the felicitation ceremony, Tulu Koota Kuwait President Ramesh Shekar Bhandary briefed the MLA about the objective and glorious journey of Tulu Koota and its focus on welfare and social-cultural activities for the people of Tulu Nadu in the last 20 years through its various Projects namely, Ashraya Yojana, Bagyada Bolpu, and Project Education.

President of the Koota, invited the MLA for the upcoming mega program Tulu Parba 2019, a festival of the cultural diversity of Tulunadu which is going to be held on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at the American International School Auditorium, Maidan Hawally Kuwait. The New Title song for the Bhoomi Bechaand concept for the Tulu Parba 2019 was released.

This time a formal appeal was made to the MLA by TKK President to include Tulu Language in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution and at the same time, the MLA was requested to take action to change the timing of Air India Express flight which is operating thrice in Kuwait – Mangalore sector. As the current flight timings are inconvenient for the passengers it was urged to revert to the original (Old) timings.

MLA Umanath Kotian was felicitated and honored by TKK President and Advisors with a flower bouquet, Shawl and Memento.

During his speech, MLA Umanath Kotian praised Tulu Koota’s work for the people in Kuwait and back in Tulu Nadu.  He asked all Tuluvas to come together and be proud of the Tulu Nadu culture and heritage. He also stressed about being responsible persons in any post given to them.

Umanath Kotain also promised that he will urge the Central Government to include Tulu Language in the eighth schedule of the Constitution and efforts will continue for the same. He also said that he will get in touch with the PM and try to resolve the issue of Air India Express flight timings.
