Tulu Koota Kuwait – Rasamanjari 2018 Mega Musical Extravaganza a Live Musical Nite and much more.
Kuwait: Tulu Koota Kuwait, under the skilled leadership of President Wilson D’Souza organized Rasamanjari 2018, a live musical concert, an evening filled with top quality music and entertainment. The event was held on Friday, 27th April 2018 at the American International School, Kamel Al Rayes Auditorium, Maidan Hawally with full entertainment. The Musical Nite featured conspicuous guest singers and prominent musicians from India, as well as well-known musicians from Kuwait. The classical dances, folk and contemporary dances and comical skits from TKK artists entertained the audience.
Ashwitha Surendra Poojari, a talented member of Tulu Koota Kuwait welcomed the gathering through an evergreen melodious song briefly narrating the beauty of Tulunadu and its proud Tuluvas. The concert commenced with the Kuwait National Anthem, followed by the Indian National Anthem. Subsequently, President Wilson D’Souza, the Conveyor, Management Committee and Members of the Advisory Committee along with the venerable guest Valerian D’sa from Khalil Bahman and Partners General Trading Company and John Simon from Al Mulla Exchange Company did the lighting of the lamp. Adding to the ethnic launch, the magnificent classical dance performance by TKK Kids along with the guest artist Harshitha Poovayya drew the stage curtain.
Wilson D’Souza addressed the guests with his welcome note and explained the objectives of the association and the dedicated efforts by TKK members in achieving the same. He listed some of the major achievements of TKK association and the social welfare support provided by the organization in different areas of South Canara. He humbly called on all the members and Tuluva’s to unite and put the efforts in one direction which would lead to success, satisfaction and fulfilment. He heartily welcomed all the guests, sponsors, well-wishers, artists and the members of the association for the mega event and candidly thanked all those who have supported the event.
Ashwitha Surendra Poojari welcomed and handed over the stage to the host of the event Soujanya Hegde, a multi-talented Mrs. Popular in Miss India 2017 and a well-known television personality with her unique style of hosting the event both on screen and off screen. Her multifaceted ability, confidence, smile and involvement kept the crowd connected till the end she also conducted quick games in between the show with spot prizes to keep the audience lively. She introduced the popular musicians who arrived from India Rajesh (keyboard), Rajendra (Rhythm program/Drums), and local artists Iqbal Koyilandi (tabla), Manoj Thalassery (base guitar) and Johnson Varkey (lead guitar), the ensemble team gave a rocking performance and brought the life to the songs through their live music.
The stage was all set and ready, and the audience was eagerly waiting to enjoy the music with no reason for the delay. The first vocal ensemble opened up the performance with a slow rhythmic song called “Neene Rama Neene Shyama” sung by a prominent singer Divya Ramachandra and won the hearts of the audience with her melodious voice. The second vocal ensemble of the night was by young and dynamic Shelton Pinto followed by the remarkable couple Mr Prakash Mahadev and Mrs Roopa Prakash. The chorale presented many Hindi, Kannada, Tulu and Konkani songs both fast and melody. Their performance reached the heart and soul of the audience and proved the power of music with the saying “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and which cannot remain silent and it is beyond all language barriers.” Amid the stage-show, a special tribute was given in memory of legendary superstar Sridevi with a medley of her few super hit songs dedicated to her as a special tribute from TKK.
As promised the show was not just limited to the music. Vidushi Harshita Poovayya entertained the audience with her solo classical dance and folk (Lavani) dance. TKK teen’s along with the guest artist moved rhythmically to the music in their performance “Ghoomer” and the dance was choreographed by Shobha Harish Bhandary. Tiger dance ass presented by Little Tigers Salmiya , choreographed by Linette Carol D’Souza. Our talented members of Tulu Koota Kuwait Abdul Razak, Lionel Mascarenhas, Lucy Lobo Aranha, Linette D’Souza, Purandara Manchi and Rajesh Cardoza showcased two comic skits, which came out as a special package.
An audio-visual presentation depicting the success story of Tulu Koota Kuwait and narrating its motto, its achievements in past years was highlighted. An outstanding part of the event was about the TKK welfare activities, including every part of the social welfare contributions made by TKK since its inception. TKK announced the total contribution to Welfare unit reached more than One Crore Rupees.
After the first half session, Yashwant Chatpalliwar, Second Secretary of Indian Embassy Kuwait, John Simon of Al Mulla Exchange, and Gangaiya Gopal & Rashid Khan of TVS Hyder Group were welcomed to stage and honoured with flower bouquets. Yashwant Chatpalliwar spoke a few words appreciating the TKK social work and events. On this occasion, Gangaiya Gopal Marketing Manager of Fly TVS announced a special offer of a free air ticket to Dubai for first 10 lucky audiences who succeeded in downloading and registering their details through Fly TVS Mobile App. Next, John Simon from AL Mulla addressed the gathering and thanked TKK for giving him an opportunity to associate for such an event. He also gave the details of services provided by Al Mulla Exchange and the benefit to TKK Members of such services.
No event is successful without financial support. Many organizations and individuals from Kuwait as well from India had supported Tulu Koota Kuwait through their sponsorship for this event. In appreciation of their support Tulu Koota Kuwait honoured representatives of such organization with bouquet and memento as a token of gratitude. Adding to it, guest artists, local singers and choreographers of the dances were also honoured with a flower bouquet and a memento in appreciation of their performance.
The program was well-coordinated by the Cultural Secretary Ronald D’souza with his cultural team members support, as well, dedicated and collective hard work by the committee members and volunteers who also to be considered for hosting such a vibrant event.

Melwin Mascarenhas conducted the Raffle Draw where 5 lucky people won exciting prizes while 15 other bagged consolation prizes.
The Megamusical fest in the square concluded with a charming sophisticated ensemble with Baila followed by Midley along with the audience who also put few steps in equal enthusiasm and danced gracefully on the stage. The smooth melodies and precise playing worked perfectly together and gave a climatic end to the performance.
