Tulu movie ‘Barsa’ by Devadas Kapikad to Hit Silver Screens on Oct 13
Mangaluru: “Barsa” (meaning ‘Rain” in English) is a Tulu language film directed by Devadas Kapikad, starring Arjun Kapikad, Kshama Shetty, Aravind Bolar, Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, in lead roles; and the movie produced by Sharmila Kapikad, Mukesh Hegde and Swapna Kini under the banner of Bolli Movies, will hit nearly 25 silver screens on 13 October 2016. The soundtrack of the film has been composed by Devadas Kapikad and background scored by Manikanth Kadri. The soundtrack album was released on 3 Sept 2016 with the Anand Audio acquiring the audio rights. The movie features songs like “Traseda Pettg” (Lyrics and singer: Devadas Kapikad); “Moned Ninna” (Lyrics: Arjun Kapikad Singers :Arjun Kapikad, Roopa Prakash); “Tulunad” (Lyrics and singer : Devadas Kapikad); and “Oh My Baby” (Lyrics : Devadas Kapikad, Singers :Karthik, Arjun Kapikad)
Director of the movie, Devdas Kapikad addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press club said, “This is the third movie, which is a family entertainer under the banner of ‘Bolli Movies’, and the movie has got a ‘U’ certificate from the censor board. T Sachin A S is the executive producer, while cinematography done by P L Ravi, stunts handled by Madan Master, and film editing by Sujith Nayak. All the scenes are shot in and around Mangaluru like Urwa Market, Kateel, Beeri, Vamanjoor, etc ‘Aremarler’ and ‘Pisinte’ will be our forthcoming movies releasing sometime next year or so. We also have two Tulu dramas lined up namely – ‘Kodebudpale’ and ‘Namaskara Mastre’ which will be staged in the nearest future”.
Executive producer Sachin said, “During the Mangaluru Dasara we will have a truck in the parade promoting our movie. Although the movie will be released in Mangaluru and DK on 13 October, but the film will be screened in Bengaluru and Mysuru during the month of November. The film will also hit screens abroad in later days.”
Sharmila D Kapikad-wife of Devdas Kapikad, Producers Mukesh Hegde and Swapna Srinivas Kini were also on the dais during the press meet.
