Tulu Movie ‘My Name is Annappa’ to hit Silver Screen on September 21
Mangaluru: Under the banner of Lakumi Cine Arts the Tulu Movie “My name is Annappa” will be released on September 21 at the Jyothi Talkies and other Multiplex theatres. From the past 14 months, we were shooting this movie. Many good actors including comedy actors Aravind Bolar and Naveen D Padil have acted in this movie. “My name is Annappa” is very good and a must watch movie. The media has played a vital role in promoting Tulu movies and we need the support of the Media in the coming days. Odiyoor Swamiji will inaugurate the screening of the movie at Jyothi Talkies.”, said the music director Lion Kishore D Shetty in a press meet held at Hotel Foodland here on September 19.
Producer of the Movie Ravi Rai Kalasa said, “My first Movie is the “Kasargod Higher primary school” and people have supported me a lot. “My name is Annappa” is my second movie and I hope people will continue to support me the same way. This movie is very good and has been produced without compromising on any aspect. Navin D Padil, Manju Rai Muloor, Shubha Shetty, Rangarayana Prabhu are also acting in this movie.”
Addressing the mediapersons Arvind Bolar said, “We need your full support to make this movie successful. Cameraman of the movie Narender Gowda has worked well. The story of ‘My name is Annappa’ is full of comedy. I urge the people of Mangaluru to support the movie and make it successful”.
Lead actor Manju Rai said, “The movie ‘My name is Annappa’ has got good likes in facebook. The dance, songs and the choreography are very good. The movie is a blend of action and comedy with a good story. Sai Krishna has acted in this movie. We have done a very good movie and I hope the movie will be successful. Cameraman Narender has done a good job. We need the support from the media to make this movie successful.”
When asked about why two Tulu movies are being released on the same day, Kishore Shetty said, “We started to shoot the movie before 14 months and submitted our cinema to the censor board. The movie Yera Uller was also given to the censor board at that time. Due to some issues, our movie was checked after ‘Yera Uller’ but there were some errors and the censor board had instructed the Yera Uller team to correct the errors. Meanwhile, our movie was passed by the censor board and we got the certificate from the censor board first. Immediately we had posted the release date of our movie on September 21 on the social media. As we had received the certificate first from the censor board, we had decided to release the movie on September 21. Later we asked the Screening committee for their opinion but there was no response from them. Jyothi talkies has its rules, whoever presents the censor certificate first will be permitted to screen the movie. We have invested a lot of money for the movie so we need to release our movie on September 21.”
Umesh Mizar, Cameraman Narender Gowda, Producer Mohan Shetty, Producer Mayur Shetty, Sai Krishna, Lead actress Shubha Shetty and others were also present.
