Tumkur School children Escape with Minor Injuries in Road Mishap at Karkala
Karkala: A group of school children from Tumkur miraculously escaped with minor injuries after their bus collided into an auto Rickshaw at Kukkundoor near Karkala here on December 22.
According to SP Dr Sanjeev M Patil, a group of school children from Tumkur District were on their way to Dharmasthala. 65 students and 6 teachers on tour were travelling from Sri Maramma Devara Rural High School Doddarampura of Tumkur District. After visiting Udupi Temple they were travelling to Dharmasthala. When the bus reached near Kukkundooru near Karkala the bus driver lost control over the vehicle and hit the auto which was moving on the left side of the road thereafter crashing into a tree on the right side of the road. 2 bus passengers and the Auto Driver have suffered injuries on the legs and have been sent to the Manipal Hospital.
The Karkala Police rushed to the spot. The locals and police assisted to shift students to the hospital and make other necessary arrangements.
