New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) While most big production banners and filmmakers have tried their hand at TV, which they consider no more a “small screen” now, filmmaker Subhash Ghai says he is too big for the ‘idiot box’.
Ghai’s past few directorial ventures, including “Black & White” and “Yuvvraaj”, didn’t do well at the box office, but TV is not something that excites him.
Asked why doesn’t he try making something for the TV, Ghai told IANS: “I don’t think that I can go on to make a TV show because TV is too small for me. I have made films for larger than life things.”
“I would rather go for education and cinema, promote classical music, dance and our ancient culture – which are big things rather than making shows.”
In the past, Ghai has made films as varied as “Karz”, “Ram Lakhan”, “Khalnayak”, “Saudagar” and “Taal”.

Bruna’s ‘costume ideas’ for her next
Actress Bruna Abdullah, known for her sense of style, spent a lot of time with Fahad Khan and Swati Singh — the costume designers of Vipin Parashar’s’film “Udanchhoo”.
“Both Fahad and Swati are very talented and were receptive. They readily agreed when I discussed my costume ideas. In the whole film, I wear just one type of costume with different colours. When Vipin approached me for the role, I immediately got hooked on to the role and said yes,” Bruna said in a statement.
Produced by Ravindra Singh of R-Vision, the film stars Rajniesh Duggal and Saisha Sehgal in lead roles, and is slated to release later this year.

When Gippy saved Tina from cold weather
For her debut film “Second Hand Husband”, Tina Ahuja had to shoot a scene when her co-star Gippy Grewal makes her wear his jacket to save her from cold. It made her a bit nervous, but then she knew it’s all part of acting.
“There is a sequence where it was freezing cold and I was wearing this short skirt and shivering. I thought I’m not going to last and I will faint… giving all those romantic expressions and all of that… but I managed,” said Tina, who is veteran actor Govinda’s daughter.
“There was one time when Gippy had to make me wear his jacket and for a moment I thought why did I get into this (acting)… I want to run back home, because no boy had ever done that to me. It’s a very normal thing (for people), but it is very different when one has to act it out,” Tina added, saying that “in the end, it was fun”.
“Second Hand Husband” is directed by Smeep Kang.
