Two booked for violation of model code of conduct
Udupi: Two cases of the violation of model code of conduct were registered by the police in the district on Monday, April 16.
In a first case, the Super sports and cultural club Gandhi Nagar Baikady had taken permission for using the loudspeaker for a public function on April 14 until 10:00 pm. When the flying squad team led by Rajesh Shenoy PDO Innanje visited the spot after receiving a complaint he found that the association was using loudspeakers until 10.45 pm violating the model code of conduct.
Rajesh Shenoy PDO Innanje filed a complaint against Asif and Shubhakar presidents of the Super sports and cultural club at the Brahamavar Police Station.
As per the complaint by Rajesh Shenoy the Brahmavar Police registered the case.
In a second incident, the BJP party organized a party programme at Kollabettu Ravindra Shetty’s house on April 15 under the Shirva police station limits. During the party programme juice was served to the participants which was video-graphed by the election flying squad team.
The Flying squad team officer Surendranath Shetty filed a complaint at the Shirva Police Station.
