Two dead in Hiriyadka temple wall collapse

Two dead in Hiriyadka temple wall collapse

Udupi: Two people died and five others were injured when the roof top and wall of the temple under construction collapsed on the workers indulged in the work here at Sri Veerabhadra temple at  Hiriyadka here, on July 23.

The deceased are identified as Prasad Angara (25) and Lokesh Shettigar (25).

The seriously injured is identified as Shivaprasad Kanchan aged 35, whose condition is severely critical and is undergoing treatment at KMC, Manipal. The others injured were also shifted to the Manipal Hospital.

The rooftop collapsed on one side of the wall, owing to which the wall and the roof top fell on the workers.

The Hiriyadka police visited the spot. Minister of Fisheries, Sports and Youth Affairs, Pramod Madhwaraj visited the hospital.

A case is registered in Heeriyadka police station.
