Bantwal: Anas (18) and Manman Khan (20), two youth of Delhi origin, drowned in river Netravati at Bastipadpu Kelaginapete in Bantwal on Sunday evening.
They were employed in a furniture shop in Kelaginapete and had gone there for swimming. They were in a group of eight.
As the two went down in water, the others shouted for help. Others present there came to their rescue. But they could not be saved.
Their bodies have been retrieved.
