Two held for Hunting Mouse Deer in Hebri
Karkala: Two persons were arrested on charges of killing a mouse deer in the wildlife sanctuary near Hebri here on Wednesday, October 10.
The arrested have been identified as Aziz from Pathoor, Kerala, and Sahul Hameed from Kukkila in Vital, Padnoor village.
The team of five members from Vittal had come to Hebri for hunting. The forest officials who got the information immediately arrested two persons. Three others namely Hameed alias Talwar Hameed from Kodangayi, Vital Padnoor and two others fleed from the spot.
The forest officials have seized country-made single-barrel gun, a few bullets, knives, and the car from the accused. Officials also seized the carcass of the mouse deer.
The accused were produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court and remanded to custody.
