Two Including Dancer Kishore Shetty Arrested in Drug Peddling case

CCB Police Arrest Kudla’s ‘Dance India Dance’ TV Reality Show Fame Kishore Aman Shetty (30), and his accomplice Aqeel Nausheel (28) who used to buy/bring drugs from Mumbai, and sell them in Mangaluru.
 
Mangaluru: Ten days after DG and IGP Praveen Sood was in Mangaluru, addressing the media said, ‘We will crack down on drug menace and take stringent action against the culprits and punish them seriously. Our main focus is on curbing the increasing drug menace that is going on in the state, especially in Bengaluru and Mangaluru. I request the support of people to work with the law enforcement officials in order to curb drug dealing in Karnataka. I assure you that I will root out the drug menace in the state during my tenure, and will see that those involved in drug activities are severely punished, no matter what. And my meeting in Mangaluru is specially to review the drug menace that’s going on in Mangaluru, and surrounding areas. There is a zero tolerance for drug menace in the state, and investigating officers have been given a ‘free hand’ to handle any cases pertaining to narcotics/drugs/ganja”

And following on the direction of the DG/IGP, Mangaluru police under the leadership of City Police Commissioner Vikash Kumar have been doing a great job in cracking down on drug dealers and drug menace in this education Hub, and adding to their credit in drug arrests, this morning (Saturday 19 September ) arrested 30-year-old actor/dancer, Kishore Aman Shetty, a ‘Dance India Dance’ TV Reality Show Fame, and group member of Ocean Kids Dance Company, Mangaluru, along with his accomplice, Aqeel Nausheel, aged 28, who used to buy and bring drugs from Mumbai and market it in Mangaluru, especially to the youth and college students.

Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Police Commissioner’s Meeting hall, Mangaluru Police Commissioner Vikash Kumar said, “” This morning we were successful in nabbing Kishore Aman Shetty (30), a resident of Kulai, Mangaluru, along with his accomplice, identified as Aqeel Nausheel aged 28, a resident of Suratkal, having possession of MDMA (methylene droxy methamphetamine), a drug that is banned in India, since it is hazardous to health.is banned as it is harmful for the health. They both were dealing with drugs smuggled from Mumbai and were trying to sell them in Mangaluru, mostly the youth. We have seized the drugs (MDMA), a Bajaj Discovery bike, and two mobile phones, altogether worth Rs 1 lakh”.

The Police Commissioner further said “It is learnt that Aqeel who was employed in the Gulf as a safety officer, had returned to his hometown last year, and started the habit of buying drugs from Mumbai and Bengaluru and sell them in Mangaluru. Kishore Aman Shetty, the accused is a well-known dancer and choreographer who bagged the prize in the ‘Dance India Dance TV Reality Show and has also acted in a HIndi movie. He also won in a dance competition in Suvarna Kannada channel. To earn quick money, Kishore joined with Aqeel, selling MDMA , and both have been arrested for drug peddling and consumption” ,” the commissioner said.

“From this arrest, we will intensify our investigation on the drugs connection between Mumbai and Mangaluru, and track the drug lords, take action against whoever is involved in it. We have also come to know that there is lots of involvement of arrangement of parties and we will crack down on them. The police will seek custody of the both accused and trace all possible drug networks connected to this case. The case has been registered under NDPS Act, and all leads and connections will be investigated, since we have already a bunch of details”added Vikash Kumar.

Today’s operation was conducted under the guidance of police commissioner Vikash Kumar, by CCB inspector Shivaprakash, R Naik, Economic Narcotics inspector Ramakrishna, CCB PSI Kabbalraj, among others.

The police have requested the citizens, that if they have any information about drug dealing or drugs consumption in the city, to inform the police quickly by calling the police control room at 100/0824-2220800 and all information shared with the police will be kept confidential, including the identity of the caller.
