Two Killed, three injured in Machete attack at Farangipet
Mangaluru: Two killed and three others were injured in a clash between two groups near Garden Hotel, Farangipet here on September 25.
The deceased has been identified as Fayaz from Adyar and the injured have been identified as, Adyar Zia, Hameez, Fazal and Mustaq.
According to primary reports, it is learnt that there was a clash between two groups which led to the attack on Adyar Zia, Fazal, Hameez, Fayaz and Mustaq. Fayaz was killed on the spot and three others were injured in the attack. Zia’s condition is said to be critical.
A group led by Talath came on a pick-up and crashed into the Innova car from behind. Later the group assaulted the occupants in the car with machetes. It is learnt that Old rivalry was the cause for the assault.
According to the police, at around 11:20 pm, a group attacked Adyar Zia and four others with machetes. The group came by a pick-up and intercepted the Innova car in which Zia and his friends were travelling. In the attack, Fazal died on the spot. A police constable on duty came to the rescue and secured one of the injured at the outpost.
According to latest reports, Zia too has breathed his last in the hospital.
