Two from Mangaluru Die in Road Mishap in Andhra Pradesh

Mangaluru: A wholesale gold merchant of Kolkata origin but based in the city for the last two decades and three others died in a tragic road mishap that took place in Andhra on Friday.

Mukti Behra (41), the gold merchant, on his way from Kolkata to city in his Ertiga car through Andhra. As the vehicle reached Nadendla in AP around 5 am on Friday, May 13, it hit a parked container vehicle.

Behra, his daughter’s friend Suvichita (16), Hardan Ray (28) and Sitaram Santosh Bhowmik (26), who were in the car, died of fatal injuries. Suvichita’s mother Sumana, Utpal and Arshad Ali, who was driving the car, were severely injured and are being treated in a hospital in Guntur.

Speeding is said to be the cause of the mishap. The car landed in a mangled condition after ramming into the container. Four reportedly died on the spot. A case has been registered in Nadendla police station.
