Udupi/Bengaluru: Two persons died on the spot and 15 others were injured when a Tempo Traveler collided into a truck at Nelamangala near Bengaluru, here on May 3.
The deceased have been identified as the Tempo driver Umesh (38) and Naveen (44), residents of Kaup, Mooluru of Udupi district.
According to police sources, the family members of Mooluru Taribettu late Annayya Poojary were travelling in the Tempo Traveler to Nelamangala to attend a baby shower. At Nelamangala, the Tempo Traveler rammed into a parked truck. Two persons in the Tempo Traveller died on the spot and the other occupants were injured. The injured have been admitted to local hospitals.
After receiving the information, Udupi district minister in-charge Vinay Kumar Sorake and the state Health and Family Welfare minister U T Khadar rushed to the hospital and consoled the family members. They also made necessary arrangements to shift the bodies to their native place.
The Nelamangala police have registered a case.
