Two more arrested in Fake Certificate Racket

Mangaluru: Recently the CCB police had busted a fake Certificate Racket and arrested a person from TC Road. In this connection, two more accused were arrested by the CCB police on March 18.

The arrested have been identified as Askan Sheikh (25) and Asraruddin (26) from Chembugudde Thokkuttu. On March 14, the CCB police had arrested Godwin D’Souza (33) from Ullal who is an employee of MITS.

According to the police, after getting reliable information on the issue of fake SSLC, PUC, Degree and Diploma certificates at the Mangalore Institute of Technology Science (MITS), the CCB police raided the Institute and seized fake certificates, laptops, 3 fake seals, fake marks sheets printing machine, papers and an I-phone.

The Mangalore Institute of Technology Science (MITS) is owned by Askan Sheikh. From 2016 Askan was issuing fake SSLC, PUC, Degree and Diploma certificates charging Rs 10,000 to Rs 45,000.

The accused Askar Sheikh, Director Askan Sheikh and Godwin D’Souza started the Mangalore Public School. Those who were unemployed used to come to this school for SSLC, PUC and Degree certificates and within a week the school was providing them certificates charging Rs 10,000 for SSLC and PUC certificates and Rs 45,000 for Degree and Diploma certificates.

MITS director Askan Shiekh started the Mangalore Institute of Management Engineering in 2016 at Pumpwell and under the Eduexcel Consultancy, he was issuing fake certificates.

The CCB police arrested the accused and seized two mobiles phones. The accused have been handed over to the Ullal police station for further investigations.

Under the direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh and the able guidance of DCP Law and order Hanumantharaya, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth the operation was carried out by the CCB Inspector Shantharam, PSI Shyam Sundar, Kabbal Raj and team.
