Two St Agnes Special School Students selected for Intl Special World Olympics-Abu Dhabi

Two St Agnes Special School Students selected for Intl Special World Olympics-Abu Dhabi

Two St Agnes Special School Students, namely Ashley D’souza (Power-lifting) and Nizamuddin ( Football) selected for Special World Olympics 2019 to be held in Abu Dhabi from 14 -22 March 2019

Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons Sr Maria Shruthi AC , Principal of St Agnes Special School, Bendore-Mangaluru said, ” It’s with much joy and pride we announce to the public that the two students of St. Agnes Special School Mangaluru, are selected to play in the International Special Olympics held at Abu Dhabi from March 14th to 22nd 2019″.

She further said, “Ashley will be taking part in the powerlifting competition. He has been trained by Premnath Ullal. Prior to the selection, he has attended a number of National Coaching clinics. He won gold medal in the same event in Mandya, silver in Bhopal, 3 Gold medals in Kholapur. Seeing his ability and successive performance he has been selected to play in the International Special Olympics held at Abu Dhabi. Nizamuddin will be representing India in the Football team. He has won several medals in National Coaching clinic held at various parts of India. He has played in Bhopal and Delhi in order to prove his ability in the selection camp. Narayan Sherigar the National Coach in Special Olympics Bharath and the Physical Education Instructor in St. Agnes Special school has trained him in the football. He too has been selected to play in the International Special Olympics held at Abu Dhabi”.

“St Agnes Special School management, staff, students and the parents wish both of them the very best. May they bring laurels to the schools and be an example for the other children with special children to excel in the sports field. We also invite the well-wishers and multinational companies and public sectors to come forward to help them to sponsor these children and help them in their needs” added Sr Maria Shruthi AC.

Vasanth Kumar Shetty-Director of Saanidhya Residential School & Training Centre for the Mentally Challenged, Shaktinagar-Mangaluru also briefed about the achievements of these two lads and urged the public to support and encourage these special children so that they could fair much better in future sports events. Premnath Ullal, the trainer of Ashley, and Narayan Sherigar, the trainer of Nizamuddin, and also the Physical Education Instructor at St Agnes Special School were present during the press meet.
