Two Youngsters Killed in Bus-car Collision in Amparu

Kundapur: Two young lives were lost and three others seriously injured in a bus-car collision on the Shivamogga–Kundapur state Highway near Amparu on Sunday, July 15.

The deceased have been identified as Kiran Shetty (23) a resident of Hosmata Kundapur and Deekshith Shetty (23) resident of Malyadi near Kundapur. The injured Arun, Manish and Jeevan have been admitted to the hospital.

According to the police, on July 15 morning, a group of friends had gone on a picnic in two separate cars to watch the Jog Falls. In the evening after visiting the Jog falls,  they were returning back to Kundapur. Both the cars were moving together one after another. The first car overtook a vehicle in front of it and while the second car was overtaking the vehicle, it collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction. The locals immediately got together and helped to shift the injured to the hospital. Kiran and Deekshith breathed their last on the way to the hospital.

Kiran Shetty was working as a contractor after completing his education while Deekshith had recently completed his MSc at Konaje and had secured a job during the Campus selection.

Kundapur Traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.
