Two youth arrested in Vehicle theft from Light House Hill Road

Mangaluru: Two youth have been arrested at Padavinangadi in connection with the theft case of a parked Hero Honda Motorcycle near Tagore Park, on April 24.

The arrested have been identified as Praveen Monteiro (22) from Panjimogeru and Bijin alias Vijay (20) from Padavinangadi.

On April 6, on getting reliable information that the accused Praveen was coming near New Chitra talkies, the police got into action and started checking the vehicles. While checking a two-wheeler, the police found it was stolen from Light House Hill Road. Immediately police took the rider Praveen into custody.

During interrogation, Praveen revealed that Bijin alias Vijay also involved in the vehicle theft. Based on his statement the North police on April 24 arrested Bijin from Padavinangadi.

Under the direction of Police commissioner Vipul Kumar and the able guidance of DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth and ACP M Jagadish the operation was carried out by the North Police Inspector Yogish Kumar, PSI Ananth Murdeshwar, SSI Padmanabh, Valentine George D’Souza, Dayanand, Vasu Naik, Ramesh, Basavaraj and Sagar.
