Los Angeles, Jan 28 (IANS) Supermodel Tyra Banks and her boyfriend Erik Asla have announced that they have welcomed their first child together, a boy. The baby was born via surrogacy.
Banks, 42, announced the news by uploading a photograph of the newborn’s knitted hat on Instagram on Wednesday, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world,” Banks captioned the image.
Banks, who had undergone IVF procedures in hopes of conceiving, said that she and her beau were excited to be parents of the “miracle baby boy”.
“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy. The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik,” she said.
“As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day. My hopes and dreams are filled with well wishes that they get to feel what my little treasure, York Banks Asla, feels like in my arms,” she added.]
DiCaprio’s controversial film taken down from free streaming
“Don’s Plum” – the controversial Leonardo DiCaprio-starring film, which failed to make it to the theatres, was released online. But soon, it was pulled off.
“Don’s Plum” was streamed for free on Freedonsplum.com, but was quickly taken down on Wednesday after a third-party notification by DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The indie film was largely made of improvisations. DiCaprio, Maguire and Kevin Connolly shot the indie film in the mid-1990s around the time DiCaprio had claimed his fame through “Romeo & Juliet” as well as “Titanic”. It follows a group of young people being rowdy at a Hollywood diner over one night.
Two years after the production of the film was completed, producer David Stutman filed a lawsuit against DiCaprio and Maguire for carrying out “a fraudulent and coercive campaign to prevent release of the film”.
Maguire feared his improvised performance “revealed personal experiences or tendencies”. In DiCaprio’s argument, the project was supposed to be a short film, but it was eventually edited to be a feature film.
Years went on without the film being released, but producer Dale Wheatley decided it was time the film to be out of the closet.
“Although the film remains banned in the US and Canada, as a writer and producer I am making the film available under my copyright for the sole purpose of promoting my work as an independent filmmaker,” Wheatley wrote in a statement on the website.
In 2014, Wheatley also wrote a lengthy open letter to DiCaprio whom he accused of being “publically and unapologetically shamed his director and then went on to destroy his work”.
Sunidhi Chauhan wants to do ‘good roles’
Singer Sunidhi Chauhan, who will play a full-fledged role in director Nagesh Kukunoor’s upcoming film, says she enjoys acting and is interested in doing good roles.
“I want to do good roles. I’m open for acting now. I enjoy it. I like watching films and now, I even like to act. So, I’d like to try my hand at it,” Sunidhi said at the screening of “Saala Khadoos” here on Tuesday.
Besides lending her voice to her album songs, the “Kamli” hitmaker also featured in their music videos.
“Currently, we are not allowed to talk about it (Kukunoor’s film). There are numerous artistes in it. We will surely do it when the dates get finalised. We’re working on that,” she said.
Said to be titled “Music Men”, the film will also feature music artistes like Shankar Mahadevan, Papon, Salim Merchant and Sivamani.
Kris Jenner opens up about miscarriage
Reality TV star Kris Jenner has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage before she was pregnant with her daughter and supermodel Kendall Jenner.
“Before I got pregnant with Kendall, I had a miscarriage at three months,” Kris told people.com.
The 60-year-old said that her late friend Nicole Brown Simpson, who was murdered by her own husband O.J. Simpson in 1994, helped her through the difficult time.
“Nicole really got me through that,” she said.
“I had never run before. And Nicole would encourage me. She got me running – and she told, me, ‘I promise you’ll get pregnant (again)’. In the middle of that, she said, ‘I’m going to give you all of my maternity clothes.’ Allen Schwartz made Nicole this entire wardrobe of maternity dresses. She had them in every colour. And she gave them all to me,” Kris added.
Kris was eventually pregnant again but, unfortunately, Nicole wasn’t alive to see it.
“I was pregnant with Kendall during the (murder) trial. I actually wore the clothes to trial. That kind of gave me this crazy strength. One day I’ll hopefully be able to say to god, ‘Why did you take her so young?’ But (till then), it gives me great comfort to say my prayers and talk to her. I loved my friend really hard. And (her death) was a loss for so many,” Kris said.
