Dubai: Deepak Shetty and Kshama Rai Crowned ‘Mr Bunt’/ Mrs Bunt During 41st annual Celebration

UAE: Large gathering witnessed a colorful and memorable 41st family get-together and annual day celebration of UAE Bunts, which was held at JW Marriott Hotel, Dubai on April 24.

Variety of dances, music, skits, and special events were lined up for the whole family to enjoy the day-long grand cultural extravaganza, which represented rich Tulunadu culture and traditions skillfully presented by family members of the organization.

Organisers and committee members received the special guests and other dignitaries in a grand traditional procession with vibrant Kerala chande to the stage. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by Padmashree Dr B R Shetty along with all the dignitaries on the dais.

Well-known bunt personality from Mangaluru, Prof M Balakrishna Shetty, Principal of SDPT First Grade College Kateel, graced the programme as Chief guest.

Sarvotham Shetty, President of UAE Bunts and Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi where highlighted in the inauguration ceremony.

On behalf of UAE Bunts, Prof M Balakrishna Shetty was felicitated with “Bunta Vibhooshana 2015” , Prashasthi with shawl, flower bouquet, fruit basket and momento. Ganesh Rai read out the felicitation letter and handed over the same to him for his contribution in the field of education and society. He admired Dr B R Shetty and UAE Bunts efforts towards spreading rich bunts tradition and culture in UAE from the last 41 years under the eminent leadership of Sarvotham Shetty. He said that he was touched and admired the love shown by the UAE bunts.

UAE Bunts recognized and honoured budding talents of the community who have many remarkable achievements in their educational and other extracurricular activities with medals. Rithika Rajpal Shetty and Sprasha Prakash Shetty who won Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum award for Distinguished academic performance, Manvika Manoj Shetty, who excelled in Karate recently were honoured by Dr B R Shetty.

Much awaited UAE level folk and filmy dance competition was well appreciated and attracted the gathering. All the teams from around the UAE participated with full energy for one of the prestigious competitions.

The first place in junior category was bagged by Kamsaale of Anubhava Group from Abu Dhabi. The second place was bagged by Shiva Thandava of Amisha and Adithi Group from Dubai. Soumya  and Rakshitha were awarded for best choreography.

In senior level category first prize was bagged by “Janapada Vaibhava of Sharjah”. The second place was bagged by “Tulunada Vaibhava of Al Ain”. Sachin Mada and Prasanna Kumar were awarded for best choreography.

Other special attraction of the day was Mr & Mrs Bunts competition for selected 12 ladies and 10 men. Each member dedicated their full effort in Fashion Show Round, Talent Show round and Question / Answer round in beautifully designed ramp for Mr & Ms/Mrs Bunts Title – 2015 was truly stunning by the guidance and co-ordination of Manoj Shetty. Meantime Manoj Shetty was felicitated on behalf of Bunts UAE for his effort and contribution for the success of the fashion show.

Noted RJ Avinash, who came from Udupi, brilliantly exhibited his compering skills, he was honoured by Sudheer Shetty of UAE Exchange .

Colorful celebration concluded with a raffle draw prize distributions and distribution of prizes. The programme was organised by team of executive committee members Prakash Pakkala, Divya Pakkala, Shiva Shetty and Akshatha Shetty, Guruprasad Shetty and Latika Shetty, Dinakar Shetty and Shruthi Shetty, Gurucharan Rai and Sridevi Rai from Sharjah, Ranjeet Rai and Sharmila Rai, Sacheendra Shetty and Akka Shetty, Kamaraj Shetty and Rashmi Shetty, Sadanand Shetty and Vidyavati Shetty. Their hardwork and dedication led to the grand success of the event.
