UAE: The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group has extended its Gold and Jewellery Mega Raffle promotion, which was a major attraction among visitors to the Dubai Shopping Festival 20th Anniversary, to offer shoppers from around the world more opportunities to win fabulous gold and diamond prizes.
The promotion was due to have concluded on the last day of DSF on 1 February but due to the huge response and high level of interest among DSF shoppers, its organisers, the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group has decided to hold the raffle’s mega draw on 7 February.
As part of the mega draw, shoppers have the chance to win 40 kilos of gold, including one first prize of 20-kilo gold, a second prize of 10-kilo gold and two third prizes of 5-kilo gold. A 5-carat diamond prize and three diamond prizes of 1 carat each are also up for grabs.
These prizes will be in addition to the daily prizes of 1 kilo gold and 1 carat diamond and weekly prizes of 5-kilo gold that were given away during the Dubai Shopping Festival 20th Anniversary celebrations from 1 January to 1 February.
“The 20th edition of DSF proved to be a highly fruitful period for the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group and all its members. In view of the resounding success of the Gold & Jewellery Mega Raffle, and the response the campaign has been able to generate this year, we have decided to further extend the date of the Mega Raffle draw to give residents and visitors more chances to win. We invite shoppers in Dubai during this period to seize this opportunity to win amazing gold and diamond prizes,” said Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group.
Shoppers will be entitled to one raffle coupon upon gold purchases of AED 500 or more and will receive two raffle coupons when spending AED 500 or more on diamond jewellery. Further, upon every AED 500 spent on purchasing a piece of the ‘Dubai Celebration Chain’, which set a new world record for Dubai, shoppers will be entitled to two raffle coupons and can therefore double their chances of winning. The “Dubai Celebration Chain” is the world’s longest handmade gold chain, which made its entry into the Guinness World Record at 5.522 km in length, and weighs approximately 256 kilos.
During DSF, several jewellery outlets in Dubai registered a significant increase in the footfall of visitors, as shoppers of various nationalities thronged the retail shops to participate in the Gold & Jewellery Mega Raffle – the region’s biggest promotion of its kind. The new date for the Mega Draw will enable both retailers and shoppers to benefit from the ongoing gold rush at participating jewellery outlets in the city.
