UAE: Gammath Kalavider to Stage ‘Nank Matherla Bodu’ on February 12

UAE: After staging several successful shows, Gammath Kalavider UAE, an amateur Tulu drama troupe, is here again with yet another Tulu comedy and social stage play “Nank Matherla Bodu” by well-known writer Naveen Shetty Alake – Lakumi Thanda, Mangaluru.

The maiden show of ‘Nank Matherla Bodu’ is scheduled to be staged on February 12, 2016, at Emirates Theatre, Emirates International School, Jumairah to mark the fifth anniversary of Gammath Kalavider UAE.

The ‘muhurtham’ of the Tulu stage play was held on Friday, November 6 at Winny’s Restaurant Al Karama, in the presence of distinguished guests, sponsors and supporters, along with members of Gammath Kalavider.

Amateur Tulu drama troupe of UAE came together as ‘Gammath Kalavider UAE’ in 2011 to provide a common platform to drama artistes to exhibit their talents in the field of Tulu stage play. Artistes have proved their talent with the super hit stage plays from past several years.

After the rituals were performed for the success of the upcoming stage play, Purohith Laxmikanth Bhat handed over the script to director Vishwanath Shetty along with other artistes.

Gammath Kalavider UAE not only performs Tulu stage plays every year, but is also a role model to other organizations by supporting and understanding the needs of the poor and the less fortunate people of the society and helping them in the noble cause. This year also Gammath Kalavider UAE has decided to continue its support for noble causes.

Harish Bangera – patron of Gammath Kalavider, Sathish Venkataramana – president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Satish Poojary – president of Billawa’s Dubai, Alwyn Pinto – president of Mangalore Konkans, Joseph Mathias, Prabhakar Ambalthere – president of Marga Deepa, Suganda Raj Bekal, Sudhakar Thumbe and other well wishers were present at the muhurtham.

President Vishwanth Shetty welcomed the gathering on behalf of Gammath Kalavider and coordinator Suvarna Sathish delivered the vote of thanks. Rajesh Kutthar hosted the programme.
