UAE: This Dubai Shopping Festival, visitors and residents have been given the opportunity to own a piece of history by buying a segment of the ‘Dubai Celebration Chain’ – the world’s longest handmade gold chain, which made its entry into the Guinness World Record at 5.522 km in length, and weighs approximately 256 kilos.
Now as DSF enters into its final week, gold shoppers have the opportunity to double their chances of winning 100 kilos of gold and 40 carats of diamond prizes at the Gold and Jewellery Mega Raffle. Upon every AED 500 spent on the ‘Dubai Celebration Chain’, shoppers will be entitled to two raffle coupons.
The 22 carat gold chain is available for booking in options of 8 grams (bracelet size), 20 grams, 22 grams, 24 grams and 25 grams. Pieces of the chain can be bought at the current 22 carat jewellery price plus AED 15/gram as the making charges.
So far, a major portion of the chain is already pre-booked and sold out. The chain has more than 4 million links and was manually linked by 100 craftsmen over 45 days for 10 hours each day.
The manufactures who joined hands with the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group to make the Dubai Celebration Chain a reality are Siroya Jewellers, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Sky Jewellery, Joyalukkas and Emerald Jewellers DMCC in addition to the support of over 500 retail jewellery partners.
The Gold and Jewellery Mega Raffle is the biggest ever gold and jewellery promotion, offering shoppers spending AED 500 at any of the participating outlets, the chance to win up to AED 15 million in prizes including 100 kilos of gold and 40 carats of diamond across 32 days of DSF. Shoppers will be entitled to one raffle coupon upon gold purchases of AED 500 or more and will receive two raffle coupons when spending AED 500 or more on diamond jewellery.
