UAE: Prestigious Cultural Event Soorya Festival Concludes

UAE: Soorya Festival – the longest and one of the most prestigious cultural events in India – conducted annually and now lasting for more than a hundred days in which the finest and most accomplished artistes in Indian classical dances and music participate.

Soorya Festival is organised twice a year under the patronage of Padmashree Dr B R Shetty, founder and Chairman of New Medical Centre (NMC) group Chairman of NMC Healthcare, in a attempt to disseminate the rich Indian culture to other parts of the world.

Over the years since its inception under the dynamic leadership of Soorya Krishnamoorthy, the founder-director of the SOORYA Stage and Film Society to promote Indian arts and culture in 16 countries with the motto of achieving International integration through Culture

Soorya Festival concluded successfully on May 31, at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School Dubai. A two hour colorful programme consisted of Bharatanatyam solo performance by one of the noted artiste Dr Jyotsna Jaganathan followed by Odissi Ballet from Aruna Mohanty and Group Orissa. Both performances were well choreographed and the Indian cultural dances mesmerized the large gathering.

The artistes were honoured by UAE Exchange. UAE Exchange Facebook contest winners were also announced during the programme.
