UAE: In the first match of the day between Mysore Royals ANIB XI on Top and Spiders Kundapura, the former got the better of the latter by 95 runs. Mysore Royals ANIB XI on Top won the toss and elected to bat and posted a formidable 183 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to a hurricane knock by Puneeth Kumar (57 in 24 balls, 4×6, 5×4) and well supported by Ramveer Rai (45 in 38 balls) and Mahesh Shetty (27 in 33 balls). The second match was held between Prince XI Padubidri vs defending champions Autotech Moodbidri. Prince XI Padubidri created an upset by defeating Autotech Moodbidri by 10 runs in a high scoring game. Autotech Moodbidri won the toss put Prince XI Padubidri to bat first. Prince XI Padubidri were provided with an explosive start by Rathesh Poojary scoring 60 runs (30 balls, 7×6, 2×4) and anchored by Man of the Match Anfal who scored the maiden century of KPCL Season 2 scoring 110 (59 balls, 4×6, 12×4) to reach a formidable score of 201 runs in 20 overs. For Autotech, Krishna (2-31) and Rizwan CP (2-38) were the successful bowlers.
Chasing a huge total Autotech Moodbidri were in the hunt for most of the games thanks to fine batting from Rizwan CP 51 (24 balls, 2×6, 7×4), Krishna Chandran 58 (36 balls, 2×6, 5×4) and Vikranth Shetty 39 (24 balls, 3×6, 1×4) however fell short of the target by 10 runs, giving Prince XI Padubidri a second win in as many games in the tournament. For Prince XI Padubidri, Ajith Rao (2-33) and Gopa Kumar, Mohd Harris, Mohd. Shafi, Laxman S, Anfal got one wickets each. Anfal of Prince XI Padubidri was adjudged the Man of Match for his all-round performance.
