Udupi: 31 Couples enter into Wedlock in Mass Marriage at Mandarthi

Brahmavar: 31 couple entered into wedlock at the 14th free mass marriage ceremony organized by Mandarthi Sri Dugaparameshwari temple near Brahmavar here on May 6.

The marriage ceremony commenced with handing over saris and blouse pieces to the brides and Sherwani to the grooms. The couples sought the blessings of Durgaparameshwari and entered the wedding hall along with the guests.

Temple managing trustees H Dhananjay Shetty, Executive officer Charulatha, Vittal Shetty, K P Shekar, Gopal Nayak, Ganesh Kundar, Malathi H Shetty and Rathna Marakalthi blessed the couples as they tied the knots. Vedamoorthy Sripathi Adiga and Sadashiv Adiga performed religious rituals of the marriage.

The 31 couples who entered into wedlock included people from different parts of the state, 9 couples were from Kundapur Taluk, 11 from Udupi Taluk, 4 from Thirthahalli, 1 from Chikkamagaluru, 2 from Hosanagara, one each from Soraba, NR Pura, Koppa and Hukkeri.
