Udupi: Accused in Sexual Harassment Case of 5-year-old Girl Arrested
Udupi: The Udupi police have successfully arrested the accused in the case of sexual harassment of a 5-year-old girl, which occurred three days ago. The accused, Muttu (35), is a resident of Sulibhavi village in Hunagund taluk, Bagalkot district.
A case was registered under the POCSO Act at the Udupi Women’s Police Station, and an investigation was launched. Since the accused was unknown, the police formed five teams to track him down. The police also reviewed CCTV footage and released the accused person’s information to the public, seeking help to identify him.
Thanks to the public’s help and the continuous efforts of the police officers and staff, the accused was finally arrested on January 26th evening near the Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi. The police reported that the accused had no fixed address in Udupi and was roaming around aimlessly.
The arrest was made possible due to the tireless efforts of the police and the cooperation of the public. The police released the photo of the accused and sought information from the public, which helped in identifying and tracking him down.
The police have stated that the accused will be produced before the court, and legal action will be taken against him. The police have also appealed to the public to come forward and provide any information they may have about the accused.
