Udupi: Arakavathi de-notification row: allegations of opposition are baseless – Dr G Parameshwar

Udupi: The allegations made by the opposition parties on Arakavathi layout de-notification are baseless as they have failed to produce evidence supporting their allegations, said Dr G Parameshwar, President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. He was speaking to mediapersons before participating in the party meet at the District Congress Office, here on February 8.

 “The BJP and JDS are framing baseless allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaih. If they possess constructive evidence against him, then let them file it with the Kempayya Commission. The Congress had earlier filed a complaint against B S Yeddyurappa in the Lokayukta with constructive evidence and thus action was initiated against him.”

“The Chief Minister is in Delhi for the Neeti Ayog meeting and will also have a formal meeting with the high command. The expansion of the cabinet is left to the Chief Minister, which he will do when he finds it necessary. The cabinet will be soon extended,” he added.

While asked on replacing of the Chief Minister with another party leader, Parameshwar said that the opposition is working hard against the government. He also said that the party leaders will decide of his role in the cabinet. Speaking on re-opening of the Bramhavar Sugar Factory, he said that it was speculated that with the grant of Rs 60 crore, the issues with the factory would be solved. The government has settled the dues of farmers by releasing a grant of rupees 12 crores. Technical issues regarding the sugar factory are being discussed and the government will come up with a positive solution, he added.

Directors and members will be appointed to the various boards and corporations. Speaking on the ban on Praveen Bhai Togadia, he said that the police will do their job in legal capacity.

Later, he took part in the workers meeting and gave a call to the Congress party workers to effectively launch the membership drive.
