Udupi: The district police organised the 27th Road Safety Week at Government College here on Monday January 11.
The programme began with an invocation, Subramanaya Hebbar welcomed the gathering. Santhosh Kumar Additional Superintendent of Police Udupi district inaugurated the Road Safety week by lighting the lamp.
In his short message Santhosh Kumar said that it is the responsibility of all who use the road to follow the traffic rules and regulations. A number of accidents can be prevented by strictly following the traffic rules and regulations. Training and awareness programmes will be launched in the district and taluk centers about road safety measures, he added.
Sridhar Shenava, Hamza, Sankappa (Advocates), Ramesh Principal of Government College, V T Hegde, Geetha Vadiraj, Nirupama Prasad, Vadiraj Rao and others were present.
