Udupi Bishop Gerald Lobo greets citizens on Diwali
Udupi: Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese wished the citizens on Diwali, describing it as a festival in which all communities rejoice in amity and friendship.
In a statement issued by the Bishop’s House here, he said the festival of lights is a harbinger of peace, joy, and prosperity. It celebrates the victory of good over evil, and the spreading of the light of learning.
Violence, illiteracy and death are the sign of darkness. Diwali is the festival of light, it sheds darkness of our minds. Diwali teaches us the importance of truth and immortality. The festival of light spreads knowledge, happiness and peace of mind.
The agricultural produce will reach the farmers, the farming community is in celebration mood. Houses are decorated with a belief of attracting wealth and prosperity.
Human life is at a very bad phase, each one is bothered about him/herself, and the festival of lights is the time to remove darkness or negativity from our minds. We should clean our body and soul to celebrate a very happy and prosperous Diwali!
May this Diwali bring peace and prosperity to all the people of our nation and to the world at large,” the Bishop added.
