Udupi Bishop Gerald Lobo Shares Spirit and Joy of Christmas with Journalists
Udupi: Christmas season is one of those days that just seems to be filled with cheer and wonder. Whether you are celebrating a fun-filled or religious Christmas, your day is sure to be filled with happiness. Celebrating Christmas with friends and colleagues is the best thing one can ever do during Christmas time. And with that Christmas spirit in mind, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi diocese, organised a “Christmas Get-together” with mediapersons of Udupi on Wednesday, December 20 at the Bishop’s House.
Fr Chethan Lobo Editor Uzvad fortnightly welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo by cutting the Christmas cake along with Delia Pais (General Manager Corporation Bank Udupi Zone), Rohini (Information officer of the district), Ganesh Prasad Pandelu (President UDWJA), Fr Denis D’Sa (PRO Udupi), Prashanth Jattanna (member CDC) and Michael Rodrigues (Media Coordinator Udupi Diocese).
Bishop Gerald in his message said that celebrating life is Christmas. “Love, happiness, peace and joy are the symbols of Christmas, which should prevail over the society in all walks of the life. Peace and love should emerge from our hearts; only then will it leave a huge impact on the society.
The journalists of Udupi have supported the noble initiatives of the diocese and they have played a major role in building and development of the diocese,” he said.
The Bishop also announced that he has instructed to all the parishes of Udupi diocese to celebrate Christmas this year with the poor people in the surroundings of the churches.
Delia Pais, Rohini and Ganesh Prasad Pandelu conveyed their Christmas wishes on the occasion. Kiran Manjanabailu (Correspondent Samyuktha Karnataka) and Santhosh Saralebettu (Correspondent Raj News) shared their views on the occasion. Newly elected office bearers of Udupi district working Journalist association, were felicitated by the Bishop.
Michael Rodrigues, the Media Coordinator of Udupi Diocese, delivered the vote of thanks. Fr Royson Fernandes Assistant Parish Priest Shankerpura, compered the programme.
